The 59th annual Opaskwayak Indigenous Days is coming next week, and preparations for the event have been ongoing for several months.
This year’s theme, “Do More in 24,” was chosen to encourage everyone to be better.
The Princess pageant contestants have been busy fundraising and promoting awareness, and registration for various events and activities is already underway.
The Canoe classic, soccer tournaments, singing contests, and feasts are only part of the celebrations that promote cultural awareness.
The event runs from the 12th to the 17th in The Pas and OCN.
The Jesse Niquanicappo Memorial Youth Talent Show will take place on Friday, August 15th, and huge cash prizes will be available at both the youth and adult competitions.
Races, parades, walking derbies, and so much more will take place during next week’s events, and everyone is welcome to attend.
