A Member of the OCN was crowned Miss Indigenous Canada 2024 at an event in Ontario last week.
Jessica McKenzie was awarded this year's title, she was born in the OCN and currently lives in Toronto and she says this is only the second pageant she's been in.
Miss Indigenous Canada is a new pageant, and McKenzie was honoured to be the contest's inaugural winner.
The event promotes culture, understanding, empowerment, and self-development for young indigenous women.
McKenzie said it was an honour to represent her community and culture and to win this year's crown.
