OCN Government Services offices will be closed tomorrow to honour a member who bravely served while fighting in Ukraine.
Austin Lathlin-Bercier, also known as running gray wolf and member of the Bald Eagle Program was killed in action fighting for what he believed in.
The Bald Eagle Program is a hands-on summer program for Indigenous youth to develop skills, encourage teamwork, provide physical fitness, and promote cultural awareness.
The service for Lathlin-Bercier will take place today and tomorrow at the OCN Veterans Hall.
There will be a host of guest speakers, including OCN Chief Maureen Brown, MLA Amanda Lathlin, Town of The Pas Mayor Andre Murphy, Grand Chief’s Cathey Marrick, and Garrison Settee, as well as others.
Services start tonight at 7 pm.
