On Tuesday, June 11th, RCMP in The Pas responded to a disturbance at the hospital.
It was reported that a male was attacking staff and punching the glass in the admitting room.
When officers arrived, they were advised that the suspect had fled.
The suspect was located a short while later on Second Street and was apprehended following an officer pursuit.
A search of the suspect found cash, a knife, drugs, and paraphernalia.
Police dogs were called in to search the area as it was believed that he discarded something during the chase.
Seventeen thousand dollars in cash from 2 separate stashes was recovered.
Alpha Mathews, 21, was charged with various offences, including possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was remanded into custody.
