The Opasquia trail updated how the new floating boardwalk at Grace Lake handled the winter.

 

Al McLauchlan, with Opasquia Trails, shares details.

 

"We had some concerns.  We didn't know how it was going to overwinter with the freeze and the thaw, and I'm very happy to say that it has overwintered just excellent.  We've had no damage to the to the floatation devices whatsoever that we can see.  It's floating perfectly and it settled in for another year of people using it."

 

Mclauchlan said several people have already visited the trail this season.

 

The trail has already hosted a variety of birding tours, and there are plans for more in the future.
