Today is officially day one of the 76th Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival and Mayor Andre Murphy, who’s in charge of the bannock slap hockey tournament and skills competition for the trapper’s festival, is asking for one more youth team for Friday’s rising stars tournament.
Here Mayor Murphy asks for another set of volunteers for the tournament.
On Monday, February 13th, the town of The Pas held their first council meeting of the month; Mayor Andre was able to give a report on some of the topics that were highlighted.
Mayor Murphy said they gave some recognition to the hard-working volunteers who made the trappers festival possible, and the others volunteering to help out with the high school provincial curling tournament this past weekend.
Murphy also talked about when citizens can talk during the citizen period of the council meeting.
The next annual meeting is February 27th
