On February 6, 2023, at approximately 1:10 pm, Moose Lake RCMP received a report of an SUV, with several occupants, driving around the community and discharging bear spray from the vehicle.

It was reported that the occupants had brandished a firearm and that they may have been involved in an attempted abduction earlier in the day.

Officers conducted patrols and, with assistance from officers in The Pas, located the suspect vehicle driving westbound on Provincial Road 287, heading towards The Pas.

A traffic stop was initiated but the suspect vehicle failed to pull over. A spike belt was successfully deployed which resulted in the disabling of the vehicle.

The vehicle came to a stop and four male suspects were arrested without incident.

A search of the vehicle, which was reported stolen earlier in the day, led to the seizure of several knives, bear spray and drug-related paraphernalia.

The four males, ages 14,14,16,18, were taken into custody and transported to The Pas Detachment.
