This Thursday is National Indigenous Diabetes Awareness Day, a day to inform and provide education on diabetes in the indigenous population.
According to the assembly of first nations website type 2 diabetes is three to five times more prevalent in first nations then the general population.
The Beatrice Wilson Health Centre will be having a special event for National Indigenous Diabetes Awareness Day on Thursday at their Otineka Mall Location from 11AM until 2PM to provide information about the disease and there will also be games and a lunch giveaway
