MKO’s Grand Chief welcomes the infrastructure investment announced in last week’s federal budget.
Garrison Settee says he’s hopeful the 2.4 billion dollars to support First Nations housing on reserve over the next five years will assist MKO citizens in making progress to address the housing deficit in northern Manitoba.
Settee also acknowledged the lack of affordable housing for off-reserve citizens, and is urging those in the housing sector to continue to make it more accessible.
Other areas the Grand Chief deemed to be highlights include additional funding for legal access, investments into the Jordan’s Principle program, and the establishment of a national dental care program.
