On March 17, 2022, at approximately 11:45 pm, Norway House RCMP responded to a stabbing at a residence on Jack River Road, on Norway House Cree Nation.
Officers immediately attended and located two adult males suffering from stab wounds. The victims, a 44-year-old and a 24-year-old, both from the community, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. They were later transported to Winnipeg for further treatment.
A suspect was identified and on March 19, 2022, he was arrested.
Aaron Paupanekis, 26, of Norway House Cree Nation, has been charged with Aggravated Assault x2 and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He was remanded into custody.
Norway House RCMP continue to investigate.
