Last weekend, The Pas RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence in The RM of Kelsey.

 

The police were advised that the suspect was inside his residence and was armed with a firearm.

 

The local RCMP detachment and members of the Manitoba First Nation Police Service attended the scene and contained the area and a 21 year old female victim was found outside the residence with only minor injuries and was treated by medical personnel.

 

After several hours the suspect surrendered, exited the residence and was arrested without incident.

 

The suspect 44 year old Jeremy Cook is facing several charges including assault, uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

 

The firearm and ammunition were seized by the police.
