The Town of The Pas based rock band Silverwater has been recognized as Rock Band of the Year at the Manitoba Loud Music Awards.

Band member J.R Lavallee told Arctic Radio that they attended the ceremony with no expectations other than to play their music and meet new musicians and winning the award was a surprise.

The band is hoping to release their debut album soon.
