After being closed to repair damage caused by vandalism the Oscars Place Homeless Shelter officially reopened its doors yesterday just in time for winter.
Our MLA Amanda Lathlin spoke to Arctic Radio and said the Shelter reopened on the 13th anniversary of her father Oscars passing and she says her father would be very proud of the work that has been done to keep the shelter running.
Members of the community are invited to make donations for the shelter anytime and Lathlin wants to thank everyone in the community that has taken the time to help the homeless.
The shelter hopes to secure more additional funding to allow for daytime work positions.
