Our MLA Amanda Lathlin has been pressuring the provincial government to make repairs to the Oscars Place Homeless Shelter.

The shelter was named after her late father former MLA Oscar Lathlin and says her father would have been saddened by the current state of the shelter.

The shelter closed earlier this month to make repairs needed to get the building to code leaving the homeless to sleep in the streets.

Shelter workers are hoping to have the shelter reopened in November.
