Opasquia Trials Grace Lake Boardwalk Construction Progress

The Opasquia Trails Grace Lake Boardwalk construction project is coming along nicely.

Phase one of the project is a viewing platform that has been completed and overlooks Grace Lake. The viewing platform is now open to the public and people can use it to look at birds and other wildlife with the binoculars that are provided.

Phase Two of the construction of the floating board walk was started this year. A number of parts of the boardwalk have been built already but there have been some issues with supplies and materials and the completion will depend on the arrival of the needed materials.

Phase Three of the project is the boreal trail that has been cleared over the summer and this will provide a good opportunity for people to learn about and enjoy wildlife. The trail was cleared by members of the Outland Indigenous Youth Project.

Opasquia Trails conducted this project in partnership with Trans Canada Trails and they hope to have the boardwalk completed and open to the public as soon as possible.
