Manitoba Public Insurance said in a statement that Friday is the most dangerous day for travel over a holiday long weekend where 36 percent of deaths or injuries occur.

MPI’s Chief Customer Officer says there is often a level of excitement on long weekends that can turn into high risk driving behavior.
