Fire Chief Randy Manych spoke to Arctic Radio about another grass fire near Great North GM here in The Pas this past Thursday.

The call came in around 5:28 in the afternoon and the fire crews had the fire out in 10 minutes.

Manych wants to remind everyone to ensure that cigarettes and matches are properly extinguished before disposing them and to be careful with other sources of ignition especially when conditions are dry.

Fire crews are also planning controlled burns along the Saskatchewan River in the next week or so.
