On April 12, 2021, at approximately 3:35 pm, RCMP responded to a report of shots fired inside a residence at Valleyview Trailer Court, in The Pas. It was reported that a male had discharged a firearm in the home, but no one was injured.

 

Officers responded immediately and contained the area. One victim had exited the residence, however the suspect, and another person, were still inside.

An RCMP crisis negotiator made contact with a female inside the home, who was then able to get out of the residence safely.

 

The officer then made contact with the suspect and convinced him to surrender peacefully. The suspect exited the residence and was arrested without incident.

 

A 44-year-old male was arrested and he is facing charges of Discharging a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, and Firearms Storage Contrary to Regulations x4.

Officers seized several firearms from inside the residence.
