OCN Members Take Part in Guaranteed Livable Income Vigil Day

Last week, Opaskwayak Cree Nation members took part in a guaranteed livable income vigil day event held at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre to show their support for low income community members.

The event was organized by the United Church and the occasion supported the guaranteed livable income movement that would provide every Canadian with a livable income.

Participants took photos during the vigil and uploaded them to social media with a goal of getting the attention of important political figures.

One of the attendees Doris Young stated that a basic income is not a waste of money but rather something that is needed in our area of society.
