Manitoba COVID New Case Numbers were Down Sunday While Saskatchewan Still Faces High Numbers

Manitoba public health reported 394 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend with a five day test positivity rate of 10 percent.  There were 203 new cases Saturday and 151 Sunday. 

 

Of the new cases 158 were in Winnipeg and 98 in the Northern health region with lower numbers in other regions.  They also reported 12 related deaths with 11 in Winnipeg and one in Southern health. 

 

Of the 26, 317 confirmed cases 4792 are considered active, 20,850 individuals have recovered and 322 are in hospital with 36 in intensive care. On Saturday an outbreak at Rod McGillivary Memorial Care Home on Opaskwayak Cree Nation was declared over.

 

Saskatchewan reported 643 new cases over the weekend. They also reported seven additional deaths with four in Regina, two in South East and one in North Central zone.  Of the 336 new cases reported Saturday 57 were in Saskatoon, 52 in Far North East, 46 in North West and 41 in North Central with  lower numbers in other zones.  Zone breakdowns were not available for Sunday.  Reported cases total 18,110 with 187 in hospital and 31 in intensive care.
