Our MP Niki Ashton and NDP Critic for Health Don Davies held a virtual press conference yesterday to address the current COVID 19 situation.

While Ashton continues to fight for the things Northern Manitoba and Indigenous communities need during this difficult time Davies says Canadians need to follow public health guidelines and instructions that are being given during the pandemic and we now have to go into a serious lockdown if we are going to get a grip on this second wave of COVID 19.

He says if travel is advised against or prohibited then people need to care about each other to follow that advice adding it’s the only way that we are going to get control of this situation.

Davies stated that he supported the decision by the federal government to suspend flights to the UK in response to the new COVID strain that was discovered there, adding that he hopes that Canada has learnt its lesson about closing borders early when there is a reported outbreak.
