No Major Changes at Kelsey School Division While the Region is in Code Orange

New COVID 19 related restrictions in Northern Manitoba take effect today and Celina Mell the superintendent of the Kelsey School Division spoke to Arctic Radio to tell us what these restrictions will mean for staff and students.

She says there won’t be any drastic changes and the schools have made preparations ahead of time.

The schools will continue to require physical distancing, mask wearing, and other appropriate covid 19 measures.

Remote learning options will be provided to students that are immune compromised or have a medical certificate and extracurricular sports will continue to operate under provincial guildlines.

Field trips with the exception of nature walks will be cancelled, parents meetings will need to be done over the phone or on a zoom call, and schools will log attendance information and monitor the attendance daily.  Students will also be forbidden from using wind instruments until further notice.
