Our MLA Amanda Lathlin spoke to Arctic Radio to discuss her private members bill that would help young sexual assault victims from the North to access the examination process locally.

When a child is sexually abuse the examination process does not happen here in Northern Manitoba and they have to be transported to Winnipeg which could further add to the victim’s trauma.

The private members bill will try to fix this problem. Lathlin is expected to present her private members bill next month and the hope is that the support for the bill will be unanimous.
