Our Local MLA Amanda Lathlin had the opportunity to speak with Doctor Brent Roussin about protecting people in our North and addressed the lack of enforcement of the Northern Manitoba travel restriction put in place to stop the spread of COVID 19.

Lathlin would like to see public health officers and the RCMP conduct  proper check stops for people entering the region to determine if they are residents of the north as Northern Manitobans are allowed to travel south and she wants people in the south especially in COVID hotspots like Winnipeg and Brandon to refrain from traveling to the North.

Lathlin added there is nothing on the highways to indicate that there is a travel restriction even though it’s a public health order.
