Manitoba Liberals Accuse PC's of Using Untendered Contract to "Kill" off Life flight

In a news release issued yesterday the Manitoba Liberals showed their disapproval for the PC’s decision to privatize the Lifeflight air ambulance a 35 year old air ambulance that served northern communities including The Pas and Thompson.

Manitoba Liberal leader Dougald Lamont stated in a news release that The Pallister government has taken an essential emergency service and used an untendered contract to hand it to a private not for profit whose rep is a former PC minister despite their repeated promises that they would not privatize the service.

Liberal Health Critic Jon Gerrard says the PC’s decision to use slower planes that can’t fly above bad weather has added hours to round trip flights to remote communities which means that it would take longer to get patients to an ER or ICU.
