Preparing for a potential wildfire this time of year in Northern Manitoba is essential.

Shauna Kortz, the Manitoba Wildfire Service’s fire control officer, says the best thing you can do to prepare for an evacuation from a wildfire is to put together an emergency kit that can last you up to three days.

It’s important to have some clothes, cash, water and non-perishable food, medication, and things you would need for young children and pets.
