A proposed bylaw was brought up during Mondays committee of the whole meeting by The Pas Mayor and Council.

Councillor Larry Forster would like to make it illegal for residents to give money to pan handlers in the community.

According to an issue sheet giving pan handler’s money will only feed addictions.

If the bylaw came into power residents would likely be fined if they were caught giving pan handlers money though they would still be allowed to purchase items for them.

The idea was tabled and it is expected to be brought up at a future date.
