With phase three of lifting COVID 19 restrictions taking effect Our MP Niki Ashton spoke to Arctic Radio and said although Manitobans have done a good job we still need to remain vigilant and that it’s important to follow recommendations from public health workers and not ignore the fact that just because we have had a low number of cases in the province doesn’t mean we are in the clear.

When asked how she felt about the travel restrictions being lifted, Ashton hopes that visitors will think twice about how they choose to visit Northern Manitoba this summer.

She added that one of the measures to maintain is the travel restrictions to regions that have a large number of COVID 19 cases such as the United States.

Ashton plans to continue her advocacy throughout the summer for the needs of our region and she plans to visit Northern Manitoba communities going about these plans safely.
