Our MLA Amanda Lathlin has been fighting hard to support Northern Manitoba Fisheries as they have been struggling during the COVID 19 pandemic.

The freshwater fish marketing corporation is no longer buying walleye because of a drastic drop in sales and many fisheries are not eligible for provincial supports because they do not have a business number and Lathin has been urging the provincial government to change this.

Another minister responded to Lathlin by saying that the Province has taken steps to protect fisheries by ensuring the sustainability of the fisheries and improving the quality of water bodies to support a strong vibrant fishery today and in the future.
