The Pas Fire Chief Randy Manych spoke to Arctic Radio to talk about forest fire season.

Manych says that despite the late start we had to spring we are expected to have a dry fire ridden season in Western Canada.

He added that people discarding cigarettes in areas with tall dry grass likely started most of the grass fires that occurred in May.
