Beatrice Wilson Health Centre Gives Safe Needle Handling Tips

The Beatrice Wilson Health Centre wants to remind you about needle safety and how to handle them properly.

There tends to be a lot of needles on the ground this time of year from the melting snow and youth are reminded never to touch discarded needles and to tell an adult right away.

Adults that handle discarded needles need to hold them on the end that isn’t sharp and to put in a container with a lid.

Use gloves or tongs when handling needles and place them in a container with a closable lid. Never flush needles down the toilet or try to put the caps back on them.

You can call The Pas Bear Clan Patrol at 204-978-0567 or the Beatrice Wilson Health Centre at 204-627-7410 if you need assistance.
