Funding Has Been Increased for Summer Jobs for Manitoba Young People

Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister has announced funding for the province’s Green Team program.

He stated the government is going to provide up to ten million dollars in Green Team funding which is nearly double the amount that was invested last year and that will support community organizations, municipalities and provincial parks in delivering Green Team projects this year and creating green jobs.

He added these investments are going to help our youth to gain critical work experience, they’re going to help support our employers during the response and recovery phases of the COVID-19 pandemic and they’re going to help build our economy as well.

The Green Team funding is expected to support over two thousand jobs.  To receive funding organizations must comply with physical distancing requirements and practices for the pandemic as directed by the chief provincial public health officer.  For more information go to the government website at www.manitoba.ca.
