During Monday Nights Committee of The whole Meeting The Pas mayor and council brought up the possibility of having electric vehicle chargers in the community.

According to Jenn Early a company called Eco West has reached out to municipalities to see if they can get a commitment of 20 electric vehicle chargers from the community before the company can apply for a grant from Natural Recourses Canada on behalf of interested communities.

The grant would pay for 50 percent of the cost of installing these chargers.

A resolution for the grant application is expected to be approved by town council.

One possible location for these chargers is near the town office and the CDC is expected to reach out to the airport and other businesses that might be interested.
