UCN Updates

The President and Vice-Chancellor of University College of the North spoke to Arctic Radio last week to give an update on how UCN is operating across the region during the pandemic.

Doug Lauvstad says they’ve moved all their courses online or have implemented a remote learning aspect, adding that the institution is looking at new ways to deliver education.

Lauvstad explains that its campuses are following the public health orders and are closed to the public and any student or staff member in the buildings are practicing physical distancing.

He says that spring convocations have been postponed at all campuses and centres, but UCN is working on ways for students to celebrate this milestone either next year or in an alternate way.

Lauvstad goes onto say that UCN is accepting applications for the next school year, however instructors may have to continue delivering programs online depending on how the COVID-19 pandemic plays out.
