Province Announced Up to $120 Million for The Manitoba Summer Student Recovery Plan

The Manitoba Government has launched the Summer Student Recovery Plan a new wage subsidy program to support high school and post secondary students employed in the private and non profit sectors.

The program will support students and connect them to summer jobs and pay for their studies. $120 million dollars is available for employers to access a seven dollar per hour wage subsidy.

Manitoba will also be deferring payments on students loans intended to help post secondary students affected by the economic impact of COVID 19.

Opaskwayak Education Services acknowledged that these uncertain times can be difficult on staff and students and they encourage them to contact one of their Councillors should they need help.

The phone numbers of the Councillors can be found on the Opaskwayak Ininew Facebook Page.
