Our local MLA Amanda Lathlins MLA report from last week outlined what happend at the emergency session at the Manitoba Legislative on April 15th.

At the session a total of thirteen bills were read voted on and and received
royal assent and the new leglislation gave authority for the Manitoba Government to release up to a billion dollars to support the ongoing actions to fight the COVID 19 Pandemic.

Lathlin stated in her report that she is concerned that the current government
has not made commitments to support small businesses directly and that the
Government must do more then just connect businesses with federal funding.

Lathlin says real financial aid is needed for families workers and small
businesses so that communites and the province can survive this pandemic.

Lathlin says she would like to thank communites for coming together and
listening to precautionary advice from public health officals during this
pandemic.

She added that the number of COVID 19 cases in Manitoba may be low right now but in order to keep it that way we need to continue physical distancing. Not allowing travel to Northern Manitoba will also help to fight the pandemic.
