Half of Manitoba Businesses Facing Financial Strain

A survey conducted by the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and Leger Marketing found that half of Manitoba Business leaders say they are facing financial impact amid the COVID 19 pandemic.

Chuck Davidson, the President and CEO of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce stated in a news release that the survey results are very concerning since 98 percent of the Canadian economy is generated by Small to medium sized enterprises and those that work for them.

Financial management is already a major challenge for small to medium sized enterprises and cash flow will be their downfall if the situation worsens and three in ten of these business leaders say they feel the epidemic may put them out of business.

Almost half of the leaders in Manitoba’s medium to large sized businesses say they consider COVID 19’s impact to be low at this point and they are focused on maintaining operations well enough to be able to serve their customers.
