Our MP Niki Ashton spoke to Arctic Radio to address the COVID 19 crisis.

Ashton believes that there has been a lack of Provincial and Federal leadership when it comes to dealing with the epidemic, outlining that our region is particularly vulnerable especially indigenous communities and urban areas.

Ashton acknowledged that the wage subsidy for small businesses introduced by Prime Minister Trudeau for small businesses is something the NDP has pushed for and is a good first step but that we need mandated shutdowns to slow the spread of the virus across Canada and the province.
