In response to the provincial budget that was tabled last week, Thompson MLA Danielle Adams says it doesn’t work for the north.

Adams told Arctic Radio News that the budget made cuts to areas such as healthcare and education, and that it -quote- “doesn’t deal with what’s going to be the reality” after COVID-19.

When asked about the NDP stalling the budget, Adams says the party wasn’t delaying the budget, and adds that they gave the PCs an opportunity to present their budget to Manitobans, but didn’t want certain bills to go through that would have -quote- “devastating effects” on northern Manitobans.

The NDP did put forward recommendation for the budget, but those were not taken into account, such as a province-wide breakfast program.
