COVID-19 Numbers are Climbing in Manitoba

Manitoba Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin announced this morning there are 14 new cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba bringing our total to 35 confirmed and presumptive cases.

He explains the public health investigation of these cases is continuing to confirm the details and at this point most of the new cases are connected to travel or through contact with previously announced cases.  He confirmed that one individual a woman from Winnipeg in her 60’s has been committed to hospital in critical condition in intensive care.

Roussin says other areas are seeing increasing numbers so Manitoba has been preparing so these are not unexpected.  He adds most people will have only mild symptoms and can recover at home.

In Saskatchewan there are 72 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3 in the north.
