Opaskwayak Cree Nation Official Statement on COVID 19 Epidemic

Opaskwayak Cree Nation released their official statement on the COVID 19 epidemic and they are informing residents that the risk for COVID 19 remains low in the region but precautions are being taken.

 

They have suspended all non essential travel for leadership and staff and they will be cancelling all non essential community events and non essential meetings held in Opaskwayak Cree Nation for the next four weeks.

 

Cleaning supply kits are being prepared for those receiving in home care services, The Rod McGillivary Care home has increased the screening of visitors, and nurses will be giving regular updates to the community once the information becomes available.

 

Joe A Ross School, Oscar Lathlin Collegiate and the Hilda Young Child Care Centre will also be closed from March 23rd until April 10th in line with Manitoba Education Recommendations.
