Niki Ashton’s latest MP report outlined the importance of affordable cell phone fees and better internet coverage in our region and across Canada.

According to her report Canadians pay some of the highest prices in the world for their cell phones and for internet access and many people in our region have little to no coverage.

Her report also said service providers charge Canadians 30 percent more on average then people in other countries such as France.

Ashton believes more must be done to make these services more affordable and accessible since cell phones and the internet are needed for businesses and everyday communications.
