KJHL Expansion

Northern Manitoba Communities that don’t have their own hockey team and have always wanted one now have a chance to make it a reality.

The Keystone Junior Hockey League is once again accepting applications for expansion teams.

Ed Albert the league president believes that Thompson would be a good community to have an expansion team and communities like Easterville, Sandy Bay, and Sagkeeng have shown interest.

Applications need to be made at least 15 days prior to the annual general meeting which is expected to be held either on May 2nd or 3rd in Winnipeg.

The application fees include a performance bond of $1,500 and franchise fees of $6,500 which are non refundable.

Albert hopes to have at least 8 teams in the league and representation from other parts of the province.

You can contact Albert at celalb@mymts.net or call him at 204-359-4729 if you are interested in applying.
