Our MP Niki Ashton spoke in the House of Commons about the recent tragedy in Garden Hill First Nation.

A seven year old boy was killed in a house fire in the community which Ashton says does not have running water, an all weather road, or suitable housing.

When asked when Marc Miller the Minister of Indigenous Services would act to ensure justice for indigenous communities in Canada.

Marc Miller the Minister of Indigenous Services gave his condolences to the community of Garden Hill First Nation and the victim’s family for their loss.

Millers department has been in contact with the first nation’s leadership to indentify and deliver support to ensure the well being of the community.
