A Strategic Planning Session held on Opaskwayak Cree Nation wrapped up yesterday.

The session took place at the Kikiwak Inn over the course of two days and according to OCN Chief Christian Sinclair the session was held because the community is moving towards an administration system that will create efficiencies and an effective government to better serve the needs of the communities’ members and allow them to develop a long term strategic plan.

Sinclair added that the strategic plan is an envision exercise of where they want to be as a community in the future knowing that they are growing and fostering.  

The session was attended by OCN directors and managers and representatives from outside agencies including Indigenous Services Canada.
