The Manitoba Association of Woman’s Shelters made a statement about the murder of 3 year old Hunter Straight Smith.

According to their statement, he was murdered to cause pain to his mother in retaliation for her standing up to her ex boyfriend and this tragedy occurred during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Each year shelters assist thousands of woman, men, and children in Manitoba and domestic violence is still happening at an alarming rate.
