Resident Address Town Council Regarding an Incident Involving his Daughter

Resident Craig Kaskie spoke to The Pas Mayor and Council during Monday’s council meeting to address an incident involving his daughter on the streets.

Kaskie says about three weeks ago his daughter was walking home and she was jumped by three girls and they beat her up badly. Kaskie talked to the police and found out that two other girls were beaten up the same night.

During the meeting it was brought up that most of the reported fighting occurs between Kelsey School and the railway tracks and that more patrols should be done by the RCMP in that area since The RCMP have six surveillance cameras’ and only one is working.

Kaskie believes that it would be prudent to have the bear clan or a neighbourhood watch group to patrol in the area to keep people safe and to set up more cameras.

Charges were filed against the girls involved in the attack but so far they have not been followed up on.
