The results of Opaskwayak Cree Nations Junior Chief and Council election have been released and Nicole Tornquist was elected junior chief with 54 votes.

Her opponent April Harris received 14 votes.

The election was held on Saturday and six young council members were elected as well, a complete list of results can be found on the Opaskwayak Ininew Facebook page.

Junior Chief and Council provides youth with an opportunity to learn about local politics and how decisions are made in the community.
