A nomination meeting for Opaskwayak Cree Nations Junior Chief and Council will be held at the OCN Youth Centre from 5 until 8PM on October 7th.
The purpose of having a Junior Chief and Council is to get youth involved in local politics and give them an idea of how decisions are made for their community.
There is one position for Junior Chief and six positions for Junior Councillor. Nominations are open to any OCN members aged 13 to 29 but minors 13-17 must have a permission slip signed by their parent or guardian in order to nominate, to be nominated, or to vote.
The election will be held on October 26th at the Youth Centre from 12PM to 7PM.
