University College of The North Receives Federal Funding for Programs

The Government of Canada is investing up to 4.9 Million dollars for six projects in Manitoba with the goal of building an inclusive and empowering economy. Some of this funding will go towards projects at the University College of the North.

UCN president and Vice Chancellor Doug Lauvstad says this gives UCN the opportunity to take an active role in economic development for Northern Manitoba.

Most of the funding will go towards a business incubator that will help entrepreneurs with setting up there business, marketing, and making connections.

$250,000 will go towards establishing a Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative for The Pas and surrounding communities. The project will help with youth that are interested in starting their own businesses.
